Privacy & Data Flow
Premium offline note-taking by default. AI is optional: self-hosted, BYOK, or hosted Mistral when you choose.
The app (default)
- • Notes, audio, images, library books, and settings live in SQLite on your device.
- • No SILO Notes account is required for core offline note-taking.
- • AI features are free in the app but entirely optional. The app works fully without them.
- • No analytics SDKs or background telemetry.
- • Backups are `.silo` zip archives you create and store where you choose.
AI: self-hosted, BYOK, or hosted Mistral
When you enable AI templates or Insights, you choose the inference path:
- • Self-hosted: OpenAI-compatible URL (Ollama, LM Studio, LocalAI, vLLM, your LAN).
- • BYOK: paste API keys for a provider you already trust.
- • Hosted Mistral (paid, optional): EU-forward privacy posture, capable models, no home server to maintain.
In all cases, only the note text you explicitly submit for a template or insight run is sent. Never your full library, and never in the background.
Hosted Mistral tiers
Tier 1: $4/mo · 2M tokens / month · Efficient Mistral models for everyday templates and summaries.
Tier 2: $10/mo · 2M tokens / month · Larger Mistral models, with more depth for longer notes and complex templates.
Tier 3: $20/mo · 5M tokens / month · Our largest hosted models. Maximum reasoning power and headroom.
Other optional services
- • TTS server URL: audio generation hits your self-hosted endpoint.
- • Voice Cloner: sample audio goes to the TTS server you configured.
This website (waitlist only)
The marketing site is a static export on Cloudflare Pages. It does not load Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or similar trackers.
- • Waitlist signups store email and timestamp in our private Supabase database.
- • Used only for beta contact, not sold or shared.
- • Theme preference lives in localStorage in your browser only.
Your rights
Email [email protected] to request removal from the waitlist. App data is already yours on-device. Delete the app or clear storage anytime.
